Acute Angles

Students should be able to:

identify and describe the relative size of acute and obtuse angles with respect to right angles.


Introduction to Acute Angles: The Letter V

Take a look at the letter V below and then compare it to the angles below it.

Which angle does it look like the most?

 

1 - acute angle; 2 - right angle; 3 - obtuse angle

 

 


What can you learn by looking at the letter V?

The letter V looks most like the acute angle. An acute angle is one with a measure less than 90º.
