Students should be able to:
- classify and describe rectangles by using their properties; e.g. parallel sides, congruent angles/sides, right angles.
Properties of a Rectangle
Rectangles have the following properties:
- opposite sides parallel
- opposite angles congruent
- all right angles

Additonal Notes on Rectangles
- Since all of the angles are right angles, they are also congruent.
- Because their opposite sides are parallel, rectangles are also classified as parallelograms.
