More Quadrilaterals
Students should be able to:
- classify and describe squares by using their properties; e.g. parallel sides, congruent angles/sides, right angles.
Properties of a Square
Squares have the following properties:
- all sides congruent
- opposite sides parallel
- all right angles

Additonal Notes on Squares
- Since all of the angles are right angles, they are also congruent.
- Because their opposite sides are parallel, rectangles are also classified as parallelograms.
- Since all their sides are congruent, squares are also rhombi.
- Finally, squares are also rectangles because their opposite sides are congruent.
