Classify and describe
triangles by using their properties; e.g., interior
angle measures, congruent angles/sides.

Triangles
are classified by the length of their sides and angle measures:
- Equilateral
- Iscosceles
- Scalene
Triangles can also be classified
only by the measure of their angles:

- Because they are equal, or
congruent, the measure of each angle in
an equilateral triangle is 60º. This means that an equilateral
triangle is also equiangular.
- If each angle is congruent,
then each side is also congruent.
- To show that a triangle is
equilateral, we use the following symbols:

- The two equal sides are called
the legs of the triangle. The third side
is called the base.
- If the legs of the triangle
are congruent, then the angles opposite each leg are congruent.
- To show that a triangle is
isosceles, we use the following symbols:
